Fully Refurbished/ Retro Refit 1972 Airstream Land Yacht
Brought to the UK in 2019 from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, this beautiful example was stripped down and fully restored by Amazing Airstreams- built in Cerritos California /23 feet long.
Apart from a fully insulated shell, new decorative internal aluminium lining, highly polished exterior, new electrics, spots, soft mood lights and UK complaint brakes and hitch, the emphasis on the restoration has been to create a stylish retro look with a focus on comfort, style and practicality with an open spacious feel.
The internal air conditioned (Truma Aventa Comfort) layout includes a large double bed (or two separated singles) at one end and a dinette at the opposite end which converts into another large double bed. The two ‘bedrooms' are separated by the central units/curtain to preserve a good level of privacy. Bespoke cloth roller blinds and pelmets dress all the windows. There is a fully fitted wet room with pressurised hot water, shower, sink and Thetford electric toilet. An external mixer allows for washing bikes etc or filling an external bath if required. The kitchen area includes a fridge freezer, sink, preparation area and gas stove for internal or external use. All seating in marino red leather fitted by auto upholsterers to a very high standard.
The Airstream has a hand made marquee quality retro canvas tent awning which creates a large waterproof shell of approximately 4 meters by 3 meters which can be erected as an awning or full tent.
The vehicle has been stored inside a closed building since refurbishment and is in excellent condition having had only limited use. Its length is such that it tows well and is designed for touring - it benefits from battery power and charger/gas stove or plug in electrics with original on board water storage and connections to mains electricity.
